We are very proud that we have a Forest School at Grendon Underwood, on the school site. The sessions are run by Miss Smith who is a qualified Forest School Leader.
The philosophy of Forest School is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.
By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment each participant has an opportunity to develop intrinsic motivation, together with sound emotional and social skills. These can be developed to reach personal potential.

Forest Schools has demonstrated success with children of all ages who visit the same local woodlands on a regular basis and through play, have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and most importantly, how to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. Forest School runs throughout the year, whatever the weather – except high wind! We have our own Forest School in the school grounds. Children play, learn boundaries of behaviour, both physical and social, gain confidence, self-esteem and self-motivation.
We aim for all children at school to have experience of Forest School during the academic year.
