Year 6 will receive two pieces of homework each week.  This will usually consist of a piece of maths work and a piece of English work.  Both pieces will be set on a Friday and the children will be informed of the return date.  Homework is always based on class learning and is used as a means to consolidate concepts.  We always go through homework together in class and address any misconceptions.   Occasionally the task may require the children to engage in research or complete a DT task.  Homework is usually set on Google Classroom.  Parents are always sent a Dojo message when homework is set and are informed when the due back date is.  Children are expected to read at least four times a week and record this in their reading diaries.  Times Table Rockstars also need to be completed at least four times a week.  Reading diaries are checked on a Monday morning and Times Table Rockstars engagement is checked on a Friday.

Year 6’s Big 6
